Regina Race Report.

Moto Vally raceway in Regina Saskatchewan was host of Round 4 of the Monster Energy CMRC Canadian Nationals. It started off as a really fun and exciting weekend, I was feeling really loose and full of energy. They made a few changes to the track this year that made it way better. The track was in much need of water. It didn,t get quite as rutty as it has in past years that,s for sure. Sunday morning started off really well. I felt good on the bike and was able to nail down the fastest qualifying lap time which secured me first gate pick.

In the first moto my Eleven Ten mods, Pro Circuit, Bridgestone tires YZ250f got me off to an incredible jump and I was able to come around with the holeshot. I paced my self and just worked on riding smooth, I was able to put a comfortable gap over Hibbert right away. Hibbert came on strong at the end though but I was able to hold him off for the wire to wire victory. My first moto win of the year. I was super pumped and feeling confident after the win. I rode smooth and consistent the whole moto.

In Moto Two I was able to come away with another great start and the two hundred dollar holeshot award Hibbert passed me right away around the second corner but I was able to pass him back 2 corners later. I put my head down and set a good pace. In 3 laps I had a pretty comfortable gap over Hibbert before my great weekend would come to an end. I think it was on lap 4 I kind of slid out going around this fast sweeper and went off the track. I figured I would just go down onto the tall grass and then rip right back onto the track Well that was probably one of the worst decisions I have made. Lying beneath the 3-4 foot tall grass were gigantic boulders and rocks. I managed to skim the first few but the rest of them ate me up alive. I cart wheeled pretty hard landing on big rocks. When I finally stopped bouncing about the rocks and came to a halt, my left leg was in some serious pain. It got really warm and throbbed bad. I knew this feeling before from broken bones and panic struck me.

There was a huge lump on my shin bone just below my cit 2 knee braces. I was not able to move my ankle at all and the paramedics figured I had broken my fibula bone. After going to the hospital and getting a few x rays, the doctor came back with some good news. Nothing was broken at all from what they could see. He figured I bruised my bone really bad and said that it is almost more pain than actually breaking it. He figured it could be better in a few days to a few weeks. I was relieved with this news. Lots of people figured I was broken all over after seeing the rock I went through. I just can't thank my trainer enough for getting me into such good shape to lesson the chance of injury. Thanks Drew. Also big thanks to the rest of my sponsors and people surrounding me. I will be back in action at Nanaimo and can't wait to get a few more wins under my belt towards the championship.

See ya at the races. Braaaaaaaap!!!!
